Recurring invoices for retainers

A retainer is the same slip every month. Save the partner and the lines, issue a fresh link, keep the books elsewhere.

A retainer dies when each month starts from a blank invoice. You retype the fee, forget a line, and the client asks what changed. Recurring invoices for retainers start with a partner you already saved and a catalog line you reuse. Issue a new slip for this period, send the same kind of payment link, collect on your Stripe or PayPal.

What the retainer slip must show

Name the period on the line: May retainer, June hours, Q3 support. Put the agreed amount. Do not hide extras in a note the client will skip. If you add a one-off, make it a second line. The payment page should read like the contract, not like a surprise.

Repeat the lines, do not rebuild the desk

Bill is not a subscription engine that charges a card in the dark. You issue the invoice when the period starts. That is what most studios already do on paper. The gain is speed: the partner and the item are waiting, the link is one click, the client pays the page they already know.

If a retainer pauses, you simply do not issue the next slip. You do not hunt a recurring rule in another product. The catalog stays. The pause is a decision, not a buried toggle.

Keep the ledger where it belongs

Bill stores invoices, partners and encrypted keys. It does not replace bookkeeping. Export or copy what your accountant needs. The client never sees that stack. They see one payment page per period.

Issue this month from the catalog

Open Bill by Integrono, drop the retainer item on a new invoice, send the link. Stripe and PayPal stay on your merchant account. Register the desk if you still rebuild the same PDF every first Monday.
